her undergraduate degree at the University of Illinois, and a master’s degree in Counseling at the University of Missouri-Columbia.
Since moving to Oregon in 2003, she has worked at both University of Oregon and Oregon State University providing personal,
career, and crisis counseling. Currently, she is a career counselor and supervises
both undergraduate and graduate students at OSU.
She is particularly interested in college student career development, as well as international careers and career development.
In her free time, she enjoys hiking, baking, and traveling, especially to locations where she can speak Spanish!

a Master's degree in Counseling from Northwest Christian College, and has served as an instructor of college courses. She
completed her internship at Umpqua Community College, specializing in career counseling and academic advising. In her
spare time, she enjoys singing, shopping, watching movies, quilting and playing Texas Hold 'Em. New to the Board,
Angela brings a passion for working with college students.

OR 97331 Miranda.smith@oregonstate.edu Miranda Smith is a native Oregonian and hails from a farming family.
She received a B.A. in English from Seattle Pacific University in 2002 and her Ed.M. in College Student Services Administration
from Oregon State University in 2007. She has worked in a variety of professions helping students discover their passions
in life and transition through the college experience successfully; these have included university admissions and career
development, as well as the instruction of university-level courses on career decision-making and academic success.
Miranda currently works in the College of Science at Oregon State University as an academic advisor and head of the College
of Science Ambassador program, which connects OSU College of Science students with K-12 students to foster an interest in
scientific study. Her passions are cooking, gardening, reading, her husband and family, rural life, and learning new
skills.

Department since 1998, Brenda's focus has been on occupational and career information, including employment, wages, skills,
job outlooks, and educational data. Brenda uses presentations, publications, and articles to distribute occupational information
to the education and workforce communities. Brenda is staff to Oregon’s Partnership for Occupational and Career Information. This group works to provide quality
career development information and tools to Oregonians, such as the MyChildsFuture.org Web site.

field, in public, private, and nonprofit sectors. For the past five years Adry has worked in higher education in Southern
California and Oregon. Adry has been involved in leadership of the Oregon Career Development Association since summer
2006. Adry has a master's degree in Career Counseling from California State University, Long Beach.

Northwest Christian College Teresa recently completed the Graduate program at Northwest
Community College, and received her Master of Arts in Professional Counseling. She will walk with her Graduate class on December
7, 2007. Her additional academic successes include an Associate of Science in Business Marketing and a Bachelor of Arts in
Business Management.Teresa works part-time at Northwest Community College as an Adjunct Faculty member. Her interests include
time spent with her children and friends, and riding her 2006 Harley Davidson.

Naomi Mandsager is an assistant professor in the Graduate Department of Counseling
at George
Fox University in Portland where she teaches Career Development, Clinical Internship, and Substance Abuse Counseling. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Approved Clinical Supervisor and works as clinical therapsit at the Pastoral Counseling Center in Corvallis. Naomi has worked as a career counselor in private practice, agency
and academic settings and continues to pursue research and professional experiences related to creativity, identity, and career
development.

Janice K. Carson, M.Ed. is the Education Services Specialist for the ASVAB Career Exploration Program. Servicing approximately 300 secondary schools in Oregon and Southwest Washington,
her responsibilities include providing test interpretations for high school students, conducting training for counselors and
educators, and managing the ASVAB Career Exploration Program. Prior to her employment
with the Department of Defense in 1985, Janice was a secondary social studies teacher in Ohio.
Professionally, Janice is a member of the National Career Development Association, American Association for Career
and Technical Education, American School Counselor Association, and the Oregon School Counselor Association.

Chuck Zimchek,

Chuck Zimchek discovered “What Color is Your Parachute” in 1979 when ruminating
over his first career change and has been intrigued by the process of change ever since. Due to issues
with “color” blindness, he continued searching for his parachute, each jump guided by a growing interest in career
development and decision making. He taught high school math, science, and career classes; received a master’s
degree in counseling and guidance; became a high school counselor in 1989, and has served in that capacity since that time.
He has taken the classes to become a Global Career Development Facilitator, has served as an adjunct professor in the
counseling program at George Fox University, and is nearing completion of his doctorate in counseling at Oregon State University.
His commitment is to find effective ways for helping people in making career and life decisions.

Bartlett is the Executive Director for the Polk Helping Achieve Livelong Objectives Program (HALO), the youth workforce
development program in Polk County. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in English from Western Oregon University,
and is currently attending OSU’s Adult Education and Higher Education Leadership Master’s program. Additionally,
Katherine is a certified Global Career Development Facilitator. Katherine’s “community relationship-building”
approach to serving youth with diverse backgrounds has been a model for the Marion, Polk, and Yamhill County region. Her
program received Rural Development Initiatives 2007 Rural Award of Excellence for innovative programming in rural economic
development.
